Last night Lekwa Municipality at 21h14 visited Makgahlela Street after complaints of Electricity low supply.
When electricians were trying to restore Electricity in the area electricity kept on tripping. On further investigation electricians discovered that electricity meters in almost ALL HOUSEHOLDS on that street were BRIDGED. Electricians didn’t have a choice but to disconnect Electricity as per Council policy on BRIDGED meters in the houses at Makgahlela Street as their meters were bridged and NO HOUSEHOLD was buying electricity.
When meters are bridged people tend to use more electricity as they don’t pay for the services they use and this causes Electricity outages, affecting those who are buying electricity. People are encouraged to STOP bridging meters and those who have bridged to be reported.
PLEASE REPORT YOUR FAULTY METERS.
PLEASE USE ELECTRICITY WISELY.
